Inception 2

Paul here.

Two days in, and I’m already experiencing side effects. I’ve never been much of a video gamer (probably because my daily addiction of 7-8 hours of internet/tv/movies kept me busy), but I played a lot of Call of Duty 2 the week before this media ban began.

Last night I dreamt that I was in a business office. It was more or less the building I work at, but there’s always subtle differences in dreams. In this one, an office-wide paintball game was going on.

I viewed everything First-person shooter style, so I just saw my lanky arms flailing in front of me as I ran around searching for ammo and paint-splattering grenades. I could tell it was my dream, because in video games, the icons for guns and ammo are usually floating neatly in front of you. In my dream, the paintball guns and stamina boosts were crudely taped to the wall every few feet. It was embarrassing.

Just like real life, I quickly became winded and tired of running around. I threw my hands up and just started walking through the halls getting pelted by paint.

I’m not sure what this has to do with living without media, or if I would have had the dream even if I watched an American Dad marathon beforehand. I just know that if I have a similar dream tonight, I hope there are more benches along the map so I can take a dream nap.
